Tests not running and Test Results view missing

Added by Daniel Ponsoda over 3 years ago

I just installed the last stable Eclipse Luna 64 bits for Windows (I'm running Windows 7) and tried CUTE 4.8 (from Marketplace) and 4.10 (from Install new software window). Neither worked.

I created a new CUTE Project. The first thing I noticed is that the Results View tab is missing.

Then I go with "Build all" and then Run As > CUTE Test.

What I get is a message "Looking for executables" and then an error: "Launch failed. Binary not found".

The project executable was compiled and saved in the Debug project folder (tested both Debug and Release modes). When I execute it from command line it shows the test output as normal.

What am I doing wrong?

Thanks for your help!

Hi Daniel

Can you create and execute the CDT hello world project?

If a project can be compiled properly but the executable is not displayed in the project ($Project-Root/Binaries), it sometimes helps if you set the binary parser for your toolchain. Project -> Properties -> C/C++ Build -> Settings -> Binary Parsers (Tab) -> PE Windows Parser (On my system, which has a MinGW GCC installed).

The Test Result View can be shown as follows: Window -> Show View -> Other... -> C/C++ -> Test Results

Please let me know if that helped.

Regards
Thomas

Thanks for the answer!

Solved it by selecting MinGW toolchain at project creation wizard (Cross GCC and Cygwin are detected and configured but not working)
